Identification
Upperparts are medium grey, except in the St. Vincent form which has blackish upperparts with olive uppertail coverts. Underparts are light grey with the exception of throat and vent areas that are rufous. Outer tail feathers are white. Feet and legs yellow.
Distribution
A year round resident on Hispaniola and Jamaica in the Greater Antilles and Dominica, Martinique, Saint Lucia and Saint Vincent in the Lesser Antilles.
Taxonomy
Each island has its own subspecies.
Habitat
Moist mountain forests.
Behaviour
The song of this species has a quality reminding of a tin whistle
