Identification

10 cm (4 in)

  • Light brown plumage
  • Blackish eye-stripe
  • White-tipped tail, long and often erect

Distribution

They range from Morocco along the north coast of Africa to Egypt, the Arabian Peninsula, Iran to Pakistan and India and north to Uzbekistan, Turkmenistan, Tajikistan, and Afghanistan.

Habitat

Estuary, rainforests, mountains and desert, rocky slopes and wadis.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet consists almostly entirely of insects, including caterpillars, beetles, beetle larvae and cicadas.
