Distribution

Southern Brazil and north-eastern Argentina.

Taxonomy

Planalto Tapaculo was split from Mouse-colored Tapaculo.[1][2][3]

This is a monotypic species.[1]

Habitat

Behaviour

Vocal. This and similar species are often very difficult to see.
