Central and South America
Central America: found in Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama and Netherlands Antilles
South America: occurs only in Colombia and Ecuador

Habitat

Rain Forest: forest edges and second growth areas; gardens; highland river borders; lowland forest and agriculture areas. Observed at heights around 1,524 m.
