Male: bright orange-rufous plumage

Distribution

South-east Asia: found in Indonesia and the Philippines.

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 3 subspecies[1]:

  • T. c. unirufa:
  • T. c. cinnamomea:
  • Southern Philippines (Mindanao, Basilan and islands in Sulu Archaepelago)
  • T. c. talautensis:
  • Talaud Islands (Karakelong, Salebabu and Kaburuang)

Habitat

Lowland and hill forests below 1200m.

Behaviour

Diet

Their diet is thought to consists of insects, foraged up to 20m in the understorey.
