Identification

Distribution

Asia: found in China, Tibet, Nepal, India, Eastern and Western Himalayas, Bangladesh and Bhutan,
Southeast Asia: Indochina, Myanmar, Laos, Vietnam and Thailand.

Taxonomy

Formerly placed in genus Tesia.

Subspecies

Subspecies ripleyi

  • C. c. castaneocoronata:
  • C. c. ripleyi:
  • South-eastern Tibet to south-western China (Sichuan and Yunnan)
  • C. c. abadiei:

Habitat

Moist montanes and lowland forests.

Behaviour

Terrestrial.

Diet

The diet includes insects.
