- Brownish-grey head and mantle
- Dull brown wings and upper tail with dense blackish barring
- White underparts with dusky spots
- Whitish eye-brow
- Long tail
- Slightly decurved bill
Distribution
South America: found in Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay and Argentina
Taxonomy

There are three subspecies:
- C. t. hypostictus:

- East-central Brazil (Maranhão to Goiás, Bahia and Espírito Santo)
- C. t. unicolor:
Habitat
Open woodland, moist forests and gardens.
Behaviour
Movement
Tail is normally cocked.
Diet
The diet includes insects, vegetable matter and small invertebrates.
