Distribution
Central Peru, Ecuador and western Colombia.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
Two subspecies recognized[1]:
- A. t. crassus in the Andes of western Colombia and Ecuador (Pichincha and El Oro)
- A. t. tricolor in the Andes of central Peru (La Libertad and Junín)
crassus is sometimes recognized as full species Choco Brush Finch.
Habitat
Moist montanes.
