Identification
22–25 cm (8¾-10 in)
- Olive brown upperparts
- Black lores
- White, brown-streaked throat
- Brownish-grey breast
- White belly
- Yellow bill
Distribution
South America: found in eastern Peru, Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and central Argentina.
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
Habitat
Open forest, and forest borders, cerrado, woodland, second growth, thorn thickets, hedgerows and gardens; they can also be seen in towns.
Behaviour
Diet
Their main diet consists of invertebrates, particularly termites taken in flight. They also eat fruit.
Breeding
They use grass to construct a cup nest.
