Distribution
South America: found in Bolivia, Brazil, Paraguay, Uruguay and Argentina.
Taxonomy
Subspecies
There are 2 subspecies[1]:
- T. r. juensis:
- North-eastern Brazil (Piauí and Ceará to Pernambuco and western Bahia)
- T. r. rufiventris:
Habitat
Woodland areas, urban gardens, parks, backyards and forest edges.
Behaviour
Diet
Includes insects, spiders and fruit (oranges, papayas and coconuts).
Breeding
The female builds a cup-shaped nest made from grass, leaves and moss and incubates 2-6 light-coloured, spotted eggs.
