  • Mostly green plimage
  • Blue and red markings on face and belly
  • Orange bill and feet

Distribution

Samoa, Lau Archaepelago, Tonga and adjacent islands in south-central Polynesia

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Areas with flowering trees, coconut plantations and gardens.

Behaviour

Diet

The diet includes nectar, pollen, wild hibiscus and coconut.

Breeding

It nests either in tree holes or burrows in banks.
