Identification

South-eastern Brazil (eastern Bahia to Santa Catarina and north-eastern Rio Grande do Sul).

Monotypic.

Placed in the new genus Eleoscytalopus by Clements (2010)¹ and Gill and Donsker (2010)².

Moist lowland forests.
