Identification
50cm.
Brown body, bare red orbital skin, yellow bill, red legs, white wings , head is partially bare with a dense crest of green or gloss blue and white plumes on the nape.
Distribution
Taxonomy
This is a monotypic species[1].
The local subspecies of Madagascar Sacred Ibis is also sometimes called Madagascar Ibis.
Habitat
Woodlands and forests.
Behaviour
The diet includes insects, spiders, frogs, reptiles, snails and invertebrates.
A platform nest made from twigs and branches and 3 eggs are laid.
