Identification

17 cm

  • Chestnut brown head and upperparts
  • Cream underparts
  • Grey lores

Distribution

South America: found on the western slope of Western Andes of Colombia and north-western Ecuador.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species1.

Habitat

Wet montane forest and forest edges. Forages on the ground and lower understorey. Observed at heights around 1800 m to 2055 m.

Behaviour

Diet

Little is know about their diet (presumably insects). They hop on the ground and turn leaves over.
