Cyanicterus cyanicterus



Male - bright blue head, throad, upper breast. Female - bright blue upperparts bright blue, yellow face, buffy throat and breast, bright yellow belly, orange iris, heavy, slightly curved bill.


Venezuela, the Guianas, and the very nearest parts of Brazil.


This is a monotypic species1.


Canopy of moist lowland forests.


They nest in trees and the nest is lined with woodchips, bark, feathers and moss.
