Genus: Picumnus

Description

27 species of Piculets from South America (one from Asia). They are very small Woodpeckers.
Compared to other woodpeckers their tail which has short and only shlightly pointed feathers.

Picumnus is a genus in the Family Picidae.
Recent studies confirmed that the Speckled Piculet from Asia belongs to this genus.
