Genus: Strepera
Description
Currawongs (or Bell-Magpies) are superficially similar to Jays and Crows in other parts of the world, but are not closely related.
They are only found in Australia. They share:
- A dark plumage with some white areas
- A strong, conical bill
- An omnivorous diet
- A large, crow like body, but more slender and less robust
Taxonomy
Strepera is a genus in the family Cracticidae.
