South America: found in Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia

Taxonomy

Subspecies

There are 5 subspecies[1]:

  • B. l. luteoviridis:
  • B. l. quindianus:
  • Central Andes of Colombia (Caldas and Tolima)
  • B. l. richardsoni:
  • Western Andes of Colombia (Cauca)
  • B. l. striaticeps:
  • Andes of northern Peru (Amazonas to Cuzco)
  • B. l. euophrys:
  • Andes of south-western Peru (Puno) to western Bolivia (La Paz and Cochabamba)

Habitat

Moist montanes.
