Identification
14-15cm.
- Pale sand brown, dark streaked above
- White below
- Dark streaked breast
- Pale stripe above eye

- Pale pink or yellow bill
Distribution
Mauritania, Mali, Niger, Chad, Sudan, Saudi Arabia and Oman.

There are 2 subspecies.
Habitat
Flat arid areas with grass and light bushes.
Behaviour
The diet includes insects and seeds.
They nest in a ground scrape, lined with vegetation. 2-3 white with black and lavender spots eggs are laid and incubated for 13-16 days.
