Asia: found in Assam, Burma, China, Thailand, Indochina, Borneo

There are 4 subspecies^[1]:

P. f. flavescens:

Hills of southern Assam (south of the Brahmaputra) to western Burma

P. f. vividus:

North-eastern Burma to south-western China (Yunnan), Thailand and northern Indochina

P. f. sordidus:

(Southern Indochina

P. f. leucops: Pale-faced Bulbul

Northern Borneo (Mt. Kinabalu to Mt. Mulu and Mt. Murud)

Habitat

Evergreen montane forest and forest edges. Observed at heights around 3300 meters.
