20 cm (7¾ in)
Eyes face forward, orange-red rim, crown, ear tufts and feathers are dark brown, facial disk has a dark rim, forehead is pale whitish. Large erect ears.

Liptong Woodlands, Negros
Found on Negros and Panay, Philippines.

It was formerly included in Philippine Scops Owl.

Montane tropical forests and dense lowland forests.
