Identification

23–25 cm

  • Black overall plumage
  • White lesser wing coverts

Distribution

South America: found in the Amazon basin of south-eastern Colombia, Venezuela, Ecuador, Peru, northern Bolivia and western Amazonian Brazil.

Taxonomy

This is a monotypic species[1].

Habitat

Humid transitional and secondary forests.

Behaviour

Diet

Not well recorded, but believed to consist of insects.
