Has anyone heard or read anything about the LG Osprey's ? Are any birds using the nest or even showing an Interest ? I have tried to find some updates for this season but had no luck so far.

On the 9th of April there was a message on the RSPB Loch Garten, Abernethy Facebook page that the feeders webcam is up and running, but the Osprey nest webcam is having software problems. From local birding sites there are currently no Ospreys using the nest.

Thanks Audrey. It's such a shame that nest seems to have been deserted, isn't it.

I've forgotten how many years it is now since it was last used.

The RSPB must be losing quite a bit of money, with the Ospreys not using the site.Between people paying to get Into the Hide and then the on site Shop,I'm sure It would have brought In a fair bit of money every spring/summer.

2018 was the last year that EJ was there, so this is the 3rd empty year, although there is still just about time for a pair to nest.

The nest webcam seems to be having major problems, but another, slightly more distant camera went live yesterday. There was an Osprey on the nest for about half an hour yesterday afternoon, so at least there's some interest being shown. The camera is showing a closer view today.

Well here’s the Loch Garten webcam with a recording taken from the webcam early morning yesterday Sunday at the Loch Garten Osprey nest and I had a look as well later on at the live webcam early last night of which the female Osprey is still on the nest. As this pair arrived so late at Loch Garten this year, whether this will be a successful season remains to be seen!

It has been reported about Osprey activity on the nest at Loch Garten while the webcam was down and of.ine again, There are still problems with the sound at present as reported by Carnyx Wild who install the cameras as well as the bird feeder webcam which is still having problems with no live pictures at the moment. This was reported. on the Loch Garten blog on the RSPB Community Forums.

A male and female Osprey have been seen on the nest fairly regularly now. The male has brought fish in and mating has occurred, the female has also been bringing sticks into the nest. One of the nest cameras is working and the female is currently standing on the side of the nest, she wouldn't want to be sitting in it at the moment as it's currently full of snow!

Is it a bit late for them to be able to breed now though? Most other osprey nests I've been following have already been on eggs for several weeks already.

If not already too late for this year, I'd think it's probably getting quite near that point unless the female lays in the next few days. It may be that they are both young birds so although they might not mange to breed this year, there's a good chance for next year if they both make it back.
