Vismigging and back problems (1 Viewer)

Not really about migration itself, but more about some issues concerning standing up for a longer period on a vismig spot.

Are there any vismiggers who, as I do, experience lower back pain when standing on a vismig spot?

I tried walking a bit once every half hour, sitting down on a chair and stretching, but when it's a good day with lots of fly overs, those things become pretty unpractical and of course I do not want to miss anything.

Of course calling for a physiotherapist is an option, but I wondered if anyone here experiences likewise issues (now or in the past)...

I'd strongly suggest seeing a doctor although core exercises are likely to help as those muscles provide support, relieving pressure on the back.

I developed backbone problems from looking up at the birds while carrying a heavy backpack. I suggest seeing a doctor, because it is likely some real damage if it does not resolve itself. And get yourself a foldable picnic chair - people will envy you.

Yes, I would strongly recommend to use a foldable chair or a stool. I had back-aches when I started vis-migging more often.
Nowadays, despite lots of standing, I seem to cope (again). As soon as I feel something, I make sure to sit down.

Thanks. I've been doing exercises daily (yoga, muscle training) and this works most of the time. Maybe consulting a doctor is best for now...

I would have thought seeing a physiotherapist might be more useful than seeing the doctor. The physio will be able to recommend appropriate exercises to strengthen the muscles and likely advise on posture etcetera.
