Australian bird 3am calling (1 Viewer)

Hello, I am curious about a particular bird that is outside my window for 3 or more hours starting about 3am until 6am. At posting this it is the start of september but it has been going on for about a month or so. East coast Australia. I have a recording of its call. I went outside but was unable to visually identify it because it was standing right above the lightbulb lamp of the power lines along the street and it is night time. It was black and white so I guess a magpie. It is flying from one electricity poll top to the next along the street and then back again.
I don't know anything about birds but since i can't sleep due to the noise I have become curious. I actually heard a neighbour open a sliding door and yell at it to shut up (which it did for a whole 5 minutes). Seems a bit odd to me that it is awake about 2 or 3 hours earlier than the other birds. I am trying not to give in to anger but remaing calm on 5 hours of sleep is a test.
Hopefully someone can help me identify it out of curiosity. Here is the recording. The second is much quieter (recorded it from phone in bed). The recordings dont do justice to how loud and consistent it really is. Usually only about 5 seconds between each call but the recordings are more like 10seconds gaps.

(From outside 4.30am)

(3.50am)

Thanks

Welcome!
Could you perhaps give a much closer description of the location, as this can often be crucial in determining an ID? Thanks.

Hi Mrzelda and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

Of course, you're entering Spring now, so the Dawn Chorus starts. The fittest birds start early. Also if (Robins and Blackbirds are notorious for that over here!!) So be patient, this is a problem caused by man. Maybe your council can turn the lights off (some are doing that over here to save money)

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news.
