Always finding a way to go off topic...
Today was the day that I went to Rainham Marshes. However, things took a sharp and kinda frustrating turn, as the guy who I had messaged asking if I could hire his lens still hadn't replied after 3 days. I found another website which had a Sigma 150-600mm f 5.6 for something like £60 for 3 days, but they only did week day delivery. And to top it all off, the weather forecast was absolutely horrible. No rain at all said the Met Office in the hourly section, but no, just as we left, it started to drizzle, then it started to rain but only lightly, and then it started absolutely chucking it down, and by that point I was outside on the marsh and ran off to the hide nearest me. So that wasn't very good.
Reports that I heard of were:
4 or 5 Curlew
2 Snipe
Teal
Wigeon
Greylag Geese
Black headed gulls.
So a rather frustrated me decided to go up to my mums to have a walk around the ponds near us, and that was a really good choice. I saw and photographed a grey wagtail sat on a submerged tree stump on the pond, and I also got some good pictures of a Jay, which I will post later at some point. There was a kingfisher at the pond once but it hasn't returned since, presumably because there are no small fish in the pond and the pond is less that 2 ft deep in most areas. Lots of carp there though.
