Carrion Crow or Common Raven? (Germany) (1 Viewer)

Hello everybody,

I see a Carrion Crow - but I´m not 100% sure. Could you help me please? There are Common Raven flieing over sometimes (you can heare and see that clearly) and they are breeding in the next vally...

Seen in Germany, Baden-Württemberg, Waldshut, 23 March 2022

Hello Chris,

I agree with you its a Carrion Crow. Easy and very often useful feature: if you have doubts, its a Carrion Crow.

This doesnt wotk with juvenile Ravens (helpful threads here on BF, where I got help. Thanks again!)

But this is an adult bird!

I go with crow. Not seeing the hackles expect on raven

I have seen shamefully few Ravens (for someone with some fairly major rarities under his belt) but that one has to be a Raven!

Bill very large and feathering covers more than half the culmen length. I agree with Common Raven, or whatever it is called these days.
