Hello All,

I live on the South Shore of Massachusetts, in the US. We are fairly close to a pond where herring and smelt spawn in the spring, so we get a huge influx of osprey, herons, egrets, and other fish-eating birds. My favorite local bird is the black-crowned night heron. They show up in the spring for the fish feast, and then they skedaddle at the beginning of the summer. We also get the occasional bald eagle, and the Baltimore orioles have been showing up with more regularity in our neighborhood.

Glad to be a part of the forum!
