Hi all, joined after recommendation from someone on TZ-UK watch forum. One positive from Covid lockdown is that I've decided to renew my interest in birdwatching after a minor 30 year absence (children and mortgages are now all gone). Used to visit the wildfowl wetlands trust on a monthly basis in Burscough NW England - heaven on earth.
Will be asking for advice on replacing my vintage Audubon binos but for now - just be gentle with me (and patient)

Hi sudsdetailing and a warm welcome to you from all the Staff and Moderators.

I'm sure you will enjoy it here and I look forward to hearing your news. I hope you soon get sorted with new bins!

Welcome to Birdforum! I am sure that you will find lots to interest you here and I hope that you enjoy your visits.

And, thank you both. I've already learned much from this site and am just teetering on pulling the trigger on a new pair of Swaro SLC 8X42. Three times my original budget but the deal on offer is very good I think. o:D
