Costa Rica Bird ID (1 Viewer)

Hi,

Can anyone help ID this bird seen in December in Costa Rica? It was on the Eastern side of CR, but I don't recall if it was on the coast near Cahuita or a bit further inland and higher elevation near Siquieres. It has a curiously crossed bill that makes me think it would be easy to ID, but I'm not finding it.

Thanks!

Looks a bit like Slaty antwren (from memory) with a bill deformity but I haven't got my books to hand...[/QUOTE
Thanks for pointing me in the right direction. I looked it up and I think it is a White Flanked Antwren, which are common in eastern CR where I was.

I'm surprised I didn't find it earlier, but I was thrown off by the bill deformity thinking it was a key characteristic.

Thanks!
