Hi

Can anyone ID this small butterfly seen in Ayrshire, Scotland, this month?

Poor quality pic - sorry.

I wondered about a Holly Blue, but I don't think they appear in Scotland.

It's certainly a darn good match for Holly Blue, but as you say they don't hang around in your parts!
Interesting, as I don't see anything else it could be. Expert advice needed, methinks!
 
Yes it's a female Holly Blue, they have been recorded in the Lothians and Dumfries & Galloway regions in the past.
