Hi!
I am most grateful for help in IDing any of these shorebirds;
(aside from the egret and heron).
I arrived at around sunset, so the photos may not be much to go on.
Perhaps those in the know can tell.
I am new, but excited about shorebirds.
Location: rice field reclamation pond, slowly drying up, providing food for the birds.
Ishikari, Hokkaido, Japan:
which has a large river running to the ocean nearby as well.
This pond is slightly inland, surrounded by rice and farm fields.
I thought PERHAPS Godwits, Dowitchers, or some kind of large billed sandpiper.
Not sure, could use the help.
Hokkaido causes migrations at this time due to the coming cold winter.
Thanks so much for any help!
Jeff
