Hello everyone, I'm a Brit living in southern Italy.
I'd be interested in your ideas on this tiny gull which was photographed here yesterday. All hypotheses are welcome (hybrids, dwarfism etc.)...

The size looks good for Little Gull but the bill colour is wrong!

Plumage and bare parts say Black-headed, rather than either Little or Bonaparte's. As to size, ones does occasionally get quite small, runty Black-headed Gulls and though this one seems a bit exreme in that respect, that's where my money is.

It's a BH Gull. I don't think there is any size illusion here either....just a small BH.

Actually quite similar to the bird standing behind it as well. I suspect the angle of the bird may make it look smaller than it really is, although its clearly smaller than normal. A runt Black-headed gull.

also maybe because its feathers are fluffed out and its head is somewhat buried in them...
