Hobby, male redstart and kingfisher all seen this lunchtime between Porters Mill and Mildenham. Lots of fledglings out too including blackcap, whitethroat, reed & sedge warblers, blue, great & long-tailed tits. Hundreds of fish seen basking in the sun, mostly roach and chub but also a couple of 3 inch jack pike on the edges and half a dozen very big bream by the lock at Egg Lane

good walk this morning until I twisted my bad ankle again.Highlights better numbers of House Martins and Swallows over crop fields, plus a Red Kite flew over head by Churhfields towards Droitwich.

Sand Martin over Tapenhall earlier and Cetti's heard near Linacre bridge.

Otherwise very quiet - birds probably keeping their heads down in the wind

A Yellowhammer singing in a field hedgerow just north of Salwarpe village.

Great news! - successful breeding of Cetti's Warbler confirmed this morning - at least 3 juveniles being fed by parent along the canal between Porter's Mill and Tapenhall. As far as I'm aware this is the first breeding record.

A Peregrine in its stooping dive near Salwarpe this morning. No idea if it caught anything as it was lost to view behind trees.
