135-400mm F4.5 - 5.6 APO DG

terrible zoom creep. if it creeps with af engaged you cannot simply zoom the lens back to 135mm with one turn as it will stop unless you fiddle with the focus, rather frustrating. poor iq at 400mm.

The new 120-400 is much better

The appearance is professional and very well cured for.
I bought it for my Canon Eos 350d and i am pleased with how they work together.
Unfortunatly it is without OS system (Optical stabilizzer) and i suffer a little for this, especially when i work at 400 mm.
I noticed a marked improvement of pictures if you shoot at about 380 mm, so if you need 400mm and you have a 10 mpx and over camera, you can shooting a less magnification and cropping in pp. In my opinion the result is better!
From 135 up to 300 photos are very sharpened and if you close at F8/F9 are better and better.
The Af is a little slowly when light condition are poor and sometimes i work better with Mf.
It weighs 1,2 kg so at 300 - 400 mm if you dont have a very good tripod, photos are irremedibly bad.
