Pros
  • AF, Color, ability to AF at f/8 with TCs, Pro Camera , amazing amount of custom settings and built like a fine watch as to longlasting durable construction...
Cons
  • Weight? although the same weight roughly as a 5D MK II with a grip...
This is a camera...aside from 4fps instead of 8.5fps, this camera out performs the 1D MkII N which is a excellent model as well. Gives the ability to make the camera into your own professional shooter, with use of enormous amount of customable settings. I own the 1D MkII N as well and use it for super fast shooting(8.5fps) but this is my main tool with double the MBs at 16.7, and color and IQ exquiste....

Pros
  • Durable, excellent photos, fast, full-frame
Cons
  • Heavy, expensive
I've had my 1Ds Mark II for a couple of years and have had excellent service from it. It will read an write to every data card I've tried. Read and write are fast. Focusing is fast. Viewfinder is very bright. It requires the best Canon L lenses in order to make use of the high resolution sensor.

Pros
  • Reliability, excellent image quality, robust, battery life
Cons
  • heavy, sensor dust magnet.
I've had the 1DS MKII for 2 years, and it has been a real pleasure to use, it's been bumped around the Yorkshire Dales, dropped on rocks a number of times but just keeps on going, been back to Canon once for a service.
Image quality is amazing, low noise at high ISO, bright viewfinder, intuitive controls (except mirror lock-up)
Highly recommended, best DSLR on the market.
