Pros
  • Excellent image quality, full range of advanced controls, fast
Cons
  • max zoom is 140mm, not much good for distant wildlife but it\\\'s great for closeup work.
The Canon A620 is a 7.1MP compact camera that comes with excellent performance and a full set of features.

1) The image quality is excellent, the optics are first class for this type of camera. Noise levels at low iso are very low largely due to to the larger than usual sensor.
2) The camera is fast to start up, focus & take repeated shots. This is due to the Digic II processor, the same as fitted to the EOS 350D DSLR.
3) Exposure accuracy is very good and reliable, it is not often fooled. The camera can blow highlights, but this is easily solved by setting it to under expose by 1/3 stop.
4) Macro performance with added closeup lenses is excellent for insect and plant photography.
5) The twist and swivel lcd is invaluable for many situations, especially macro work.
6) The camera has all the advanced settings that you could need, PASM and scene modes, exposure control, flash strength control, spot metering etc.
7) It takes AA batteries, useful if you run out and it is frugal in theur use.
8) the body shape gives good ergonomics with a solid hand grip provided by the battery compartment.
