The sighting was on 18th November and it was the Sri Lanka Thrush we missed. The 3 most difficult endemics seem to be the Thrush, easier in drier conditions, the Whistling-Thrush and Serendib Scops.

It seems that most commentary on identification of juv. Yellow-legged Gulls is how to tell from Herring, but in my mind Lesser Black-backed is often harder to rule out.
