Another meadow pipit?

Thought this was another meadow pipit but it seems to have a couple of slight variances to the other one I posted recently, so thought I'd better check. Brora golf course, Sutherland, two weeks ago.

Lark, twite or pipit?

Thought this was a lark, but now I'm not sure. I'm guessing it's either a pipit or a twite. Photo was taken last week in Sutherland.

Hi Dean, you're not far away then. Bronxies, that's what they're called? I noticed last week one of them being mobbed by seagulls near the Coves, south of Brora.

Love the greys. And the fulmars of course. There is a nesting colony of fulmars only about 2 miles from Brora. Love seeing them show up every year.

Ach, had to start that image of the raven from scratch again. I hadn't noticed the vignette had broken the shadows. Some photos only need a minute or two, some need a bit longer.

Oh no, sciatica isn't pleasant. You made it round the island though. Very courageous of you to take on an adventure like that when you're not 100%.

I agree with the crop to put the owl on the left third ish. It makes such a difference.

I also had a wee play with it on my computer, brightened the image, adjusted the colours very slightly, added...

Great skua, Brora beach

I think I've only ever seen 2 Great skuas here in the last 10 years, and this year I've seen 3 in the last week. This isnít a very good photo, as he was well offshore, but it does for ID purposes. I...

I must get over there again. Perhaps next year. The great thing about Handa at this time of year is that you can photo birds on the ground. I'm not very good at birds in flight.

No storm, it was a beautiful day, I just had to crank the exposure right down to get the sky properly exposed, which blocked up the shadows and made it atmospheric. It was either that or a blown out...

I hear you Lisa, good call. Don't worry, I know what I'm doing. That photo is cropped from a 6000 pixel wide image taken at 400mm, and no one but me knows where the nest is. No more nests!
