Quick & dirty review of 8x42 Opticron Aurora.

Just for information, the case supplied with the Aurora is made by the same company that supplies most of Swarovski's binocular cases and is made of Cordura - a material which is known for its durability.

Zeiss gavia, vortex razor or Kowa 773

If you only want/need the extra magnification on the odd occasion, you could try the 2x UTA: https://www.opticron.co.uk/our-products/accessories/universal-tele-adapter/universal-tele-adapter-uta-2x That will give you 30-90x so at the midpoint of the zoom range you'd be getting a decent boost...

    Thoughts on MM2

The retail price of this non-ED* MM2 when it was discontinued was £149 body only. Eyepieces were £45 and £99 each. So total of just over £290. At the end of its life there were body, eyepiece and case kits selling at £299 which included a Velbon Sherpa 200 tripod so the scope would have been...
