Mediterranean Gull? And assorted waders. (Essex, UK)

Is this a Med Gull in the first pic with the Godwits? Looks a fair bit different in the head to the other BH Gulls I saw. Also, in the large flock of waders I can see Black Tailed Godwits, Redshank and the odd Oystercatcher, can anyone spy anything else? My eyes are starting to cross looking at...

    Richmond Park, brown bird

Richmond Park, brown(ish) bird Sorry for the terrible photo, it flew out of the long grass and this is all I could get. Thrush sized I think but the tail looks like it disqualifies itself from that - any ideas at all here? Thanks.

    Finally Goldfinches

After an eternity (seemingly) of having Nyger seed out in the garden, and seeing Goldfinches in the area, two just flew in and had a good snack on the feeder. Hopefully they'll return for some more over the days and weeks. The garden's been quite busy lately, with a Mistle Thrush returning every...

Great day at Old Hall Marshes - 3 lifers!

    Too late for next boxes?

I've never put one up before, so I was just wondering if it was too late to put up a nest box for this year - is it likely that a bird will take up residence now? Was thinking about dropping down to the garden centre tomorrow and picking one up, but don't want to if it's the wrong time.

    Interesting Tufted Duck, London, England

I was in Kensington Gardens yesterday, and saw what looked very much like a female Tufted Duck. However, it had a white ring around the base of its beak. Is this some kind a sub-species, the cause of cross-breeding or a totally different bird? Cheers.

Hybrid (?) Duck - Essex, England

Took this photo at Abberton Reservoir in the mid nineties I'm guessing. Found the photo today in amongst some stuff and curiosity got the better of me - does anyone know what they are hybrids of? (I'm assuming they're hybrids, of course) Cheers.

    Cuffley Great Grey Shrike

Apparently there's been a GG Shrike flying about Cuffley in Herts for a month or so now, I was hoping someone could fill me in on where abouts it tends to "hang out"? I'll be coming in by train, so any directions from the rail station in Cuffley would be fantastic.
