    Honestly that is an apples to oranges comparison, even though they both use the same eye pieces. The ED-III is super robust, you can drive nails with it, but it is heavy, so a tripod is really indispensable to enjoy it. The ED-50 by contrast is really light, can be readily hand held and is happy...
