    I quot Split from the common blue P. icarus based on DNA analysis. It replaces that species in S Spain, N Africa and the Canaries. The limit of its range in S Spain and the interaction between these species is not well understood.e:

    They should, apparently, be P. celina ---- not Common Blue.

    Hi Stew I have no record of Small Blue from the Balearics. Are you certain of the identity? Martin Or wasit a small blue?

    There's not much on the moths (I've been working on the moth fauna for years) but there is a book on the moths of Spain, which covers a lot of the Balearic specie,as there's also a small guide to the butterflies. produced locally. I'd give you the details but I'm stuck in hospital here.
