    OK, I think I've made sense of the three (it seems) versions that came out, the last one being denominated WB, with the new strap attachment. Strangely one significant difference is that the minimum focusing distance has increased from 5 to 11ft (roughly), that's a bit strange

    Thanks Peter. I've had a quick look at our second-hand market here, and there are Swaro EL 8.4x42 for under 1000€, but I'm confused about what version they are. Have there been many versions over the years, and how do they differ from one another ? I can get an idea of how much I want to pay...

    The eyecups on my Pentax SD 8x42 WP have broken, after only two years of use, this is the second pair of Pentax to which it happens (first one was a pair of DCF 8x36 IIRC), and I'm a little peeved... I've sent them to the reseller for repairs, but it's still unclear whether the warranty will...
