    Hi Ray, Where about on the headland are you seeing the Glaucous Gull (out of interest)? I saw it off the gun battery a few weeks ago but I think its now more toward the Fish Quay area? Keep your eye out for a Ross's Gull! :t: Cheers,

    I imagine for Newcastle it would be Kielder Forest, their presence there is common knowledge so its okay for me to post it here. As I normally don't with rare breeders.

    Yeah it is only illegal during nesting, though Barn Owls will nest throughout the year and when food is plentiful. As it happens there are at least 5 birds present, having seen 3 of these myself during the week. So does this classify as nesting? I honestly don't know, though I am led to believe...

    Good bird for the reserve! Lowland Cuckoo's have sadly gone right back in the lowlands, yet in the Dales they seem to be doing relatively ok. :t: If you think your shots are bad you should see some of mine. ;)
