    Don’t get me wrong I’ve seen some nice birds there myself, Great Snipe springs to mind. It’s just that it’s such a long boring drive down the featureless countryside then all the way back. I seem to remember reading a bit about parts of the road got washed away. Was it ever repaired?

    I hated Spurn. It was such a long, long way down only to drive the even longer way back. The last time I went was to twitch the Mugimaki Flycatcher. I had to go and test a control panel in Bedewell near Newcastle and the rental car turned out to be a Ford Fiesta, not just your average Fiesta but...
