    USA NJ, Cape May - stumped!!!

    Saw this sparrow like bird today in my garden for the first time. My best guess is some kind of color mutation of a dark-eyed junco. The chipping sparrow is in some of the pictures for a good size reference.

    Hi from California

    WE just moved out here and are hoping to see lots of new species of birds. We did spot a mountain chickadee the other day but hope to see lots more different types.

    Other then the hopping on the ground the White-breasted nuthatch seems normal now. I've only seen one at our feeder so I assume it is the same bird.
