    Ringed bonxie

I usually prefer to write the scientific name. There's no chance to get wrong, except if it's not updated (as in this case). I'm Spanish and it's normal that I don't know a lot of english names (not the case) and that's what scientific names are for :)

    Ringed bonxie

Wow! Didn't notice that there was a section for "Stercorarius skua". I've been searching for "Catharacta skua" and only an orange-PVC project appeared. Now I understand why... thank you!

    Ringed bonxie

Hi! Last july I saw this PVC-ringed bonxie in Handa (Scotland). It had a pale blue PVC ring in the left leg with the inscription "E8". I've been asking to some people since then, but I haven't recieved nothing. Even the BTO doesn't know who belongs to. Could someone help me? Thanks!

Good morning. In a few days I'm going with some friends to Iceland on a trip, and we have a couple of species that we would really like to see. One of them is the little auk, more specifically a specimen that has been seen in Grímsey for a long time, but we don't know exactly where. The other...

    Ringed puffin

Hi! Last summer, on July 7th, I observed a ringed Puffin on the island of Lunga (Scotland). I could not see the entire code of the ring, but it was wearing a metallic ring on the right tarsus with the sender "BTO" and the (incomplete) code "EZ3025(0?)". Could someone help me locate where this...

Planning a trip to Scotland. Help!

Hi mates! It's been a time since we went to Scotland. Overall, it was a fantastic trip: we saw some corncrakes, red grouses, a black grouse, white tailed eagles, snow buntings, horned grebes... We have made a trip report telling our experience. It's both in spanish and english, so you can read...

    Ringing pliers

Hello. Any ringer or ex-ringer interested in selling ringing pliers? I am interested in buying the old model of straight and crooked handles from Porzana, but it's being impossible to find. All websites show the photo of the old model but they sell the new one, which I find to be more...

Planning a trip to Scotland. Help!

I know it's not the best time for birding, but our calendar was quit busy for visiting Scotland earlier. I'll take note about your comments. Thank you a lot! :)

Planning a trip to Scotland. Help!

Hello. From early to mid July, myself and some friends are going on a birding trip around Scotland. I have a couple of questions in particular that I would greatly appreciate if someone could answer me. We wanted to see black grouse in some areas that we know near Loch Garten, but we don't know...
