    Hi Ken, Maybe it's me, but surely you can use the singular in almost every case with a bird species? I saw good numbers of painted stork today .... that seems ok to my ears. Birdforum has used Sibley Monroe names for 4 or so years, and I think we'll be sticking to that for the forseeable...
