Happy New Year to all readers and contributors to this thread.
Mallorca not only continues to be a fabulous birding destination, but more and more rarities are being found and added to the ever-increasing list of species to be seen here.
We all look forward to better circumstances in 2021 and I...
I saw this falcon at Cap de Ses Salines, Mallorca, yesterday and there are different opinions.
Some say Hobby whilst others believe it is a Red-footed falcon.
I accept the photo is poor and I have lightened it a bit.
Any help would be appreciated.
A Caspian tern has been knocking around the Albufera reserve and I wonder if it’s possible to tell from this poor photograph on full zoom. I didn’t have a telescope so this is the best I could do. The other possibility is Common tern which breed nearby but I can’t tell.
I don’t think there is much hope of an identification of this bird I saw this morning in Mallorca. I could barely see it and all I could manage was a couple of shots on full zoom.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Happy New Year to all readers of and contributors to this thread.
May 2020 bring you good health and lots of good birding.
For those traveling to Mallorca in the coming year, I look forward to meeting up with many of you and do please let me know if I can help in any way.
Let’s hope for some...
This wader was seen this morning in Mallorca and identified as a Wood Sandpiper.
I think the bill is too long and fine for that species and that it may be a Marsh Sandpiper.
Any comments would be appreciated.
Good morning and Happy New Year to all.
I wish you good health and happiness in 2019.
I will do my best to keep this thread up to date throughout the year and I look forward to reading all your sightings and comments too.
Have a great New Year and I hope to meet up with many of you soon.
Happy New Year to all contributors and readers of this thread.
Let’s hope for a bumper year with many more great birds and a few surprises.
Above all, good health to you all and I hope to meet up with many of you in the forthcoming year.
I only got a brief view and poor photo of this thrasher in Mississippi a few days ago. It appeared uniform brown but I didn't get a good view of the breast. I was thinking Curve-billed thrasher. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Mike

May 2017 bring you all good health and lots of great birds. 2016 has been exceptionally good for rare birds so let's hope the coming year continues in the same fashion.
I look forward to meeting up with many of you again later in...
I have had a photograph accepted for publication and have been asked to send a copy of the photograph in high definition.
As I have never done this before, I would like some help please about how to do this. My computer skills are very limited. Many thanks, Mike
